I recently had the pleasure of examining this antique Victorian 1888 full hunter chronograph pocket watch, retailed by Hardy Brothers London & Sydney.
The 18ct gold cased watch has a stem wound and pin set jewelled lever escapement that has been kept in immaculate condition over the years and gives an excellent rate, which had me convinced it had been freshly serviced. It's a testament to the quality workmanship of the era, and how it can maintain excellent time keeping - even by today's standards - with regular care and servicing.
