Diary of a Watchmaker
Today I have the pleasure of servicing a classic gentleman's Titus from the 1960's. My fathers generation would say this is the kind of watch that was meant to be worn and built to last ! This watch contains a calibre ST-96; a stalwart of the Swiss watch industry. The brand Titus was founded in 1892 by Paul Ditisheim, a well known and respected watchmaker and inventor.
This Titus has it all - classic styling and reliability as evidenced in its well engineered movement which has 17 jewels. I've serviced the watch and supplied new parts including a crown, plexi-glass and mainspring, as well as re-luminescing the hands and dial. I've also buffed the case to give it an extra shiny finish.
